Vernacular: words, bluffs, and a clock

Vernacular is a free online word game in the Scrabble tradition, played in the browser at playvern.com. Two players draw letter tiles and build crossing words on a 15×15 board with premium squares. Nothing to install.

How it works

• Three rated ladders. Standard, Daily and Rapid each keep their own rating.
• Nobody checks your word for you. In ranked games your opponent decides whether to challenge a play.
• Daily games give each player days per move. Standard and Rapid run on a live clock.
• Casual games, friends and bots. Invite someone by link, play unrated with any settings, or practise against bots.
